Research within the ERC project DISTRUCT of the Logic and Semantics research group in the area of structural and algorithmic graph theory focussing on structure theory and directed graphs.
Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Computer Science or Mathematics; PhD is desirable but not a prerequisite. Applicants must have a strong interest in theoretical computer science and are required to have a strong background in structural and algorithmic graph theory, especially graph minor theory. In particular, the applicant is expected to work in a part of the DISTRUCT project where low genus surface embeddings of directed graphs and algorithmic applications are studied. Therefore the candidate should have a profound knowledge of topological graph theory and algorithmic properties of graphs embedded on surfaces as they are for example studied in graph minor theory. Knowledge of directed graph theory is beneficial. A profound knowledge of English is expected; the working language of the group is English. / For further inquiries please contact Prof. Dr. Stephan Kreutzer, email: email@example.com, phone: +49 30 314 29088.
